Maurizio Berlincioni was born in Florence in 1943 and began to photograph at the end of the Sixties. He has travelled extensively in Europe and the U.S. and has always been attracted by the social scene and experimental photography. He started to work as a freelance photojournalist and in 1977 opened a commercial studio in Florence; he has had many one-man and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad and portfolios of his photographs have been published by major Italian and foreign photography magazines. He has published several books, including Giant Super & Vicinity, Caro Arno, Fotocoppie, La Fortezza Spagnola, Un Parco Produttivo: Lavori in Corso, Pietrasanta Arte e Lavoro, and more recently Wenzhou-Firenze, an extensive reportage on the Chinese community in Florence. He has also published some monographs on theatre and architecture and has worked with film directors Ettore Scola and Bigas Luna as a portrait and still photographer. His photographs are included in several public and private collections.
